So, I started off today thinking... I need to write about preparations for my upcoming trips...and I will, but, today's adventure in prep work deserves its own write up. I went to get my eyebrows done the other day, and I had an appointment, but we wound up rescheduling for this morning AND, adding a French wax. Now, normally I sugar down yonder because I like it better, but, over the last year it's been hard to find good sugar (not the kissing kind) lol. You know...it's girl weekend!! Colleen and I are getting together in Tennessee for music, dancing, fun, and shenanigans. As I do for any adventure, I "pamper" myself before I go. Sugar is not a well known concept in Arkansas so I opted to try waxing again- and I trust Tara, so I thought,well...,why not? This is me arriving to the shop- if you haven't been to Gypsy Girl in Hot Springs you should check it out. They are awesome people, and I seriously love the decor in there too. Tara has a private space upstairs for waxing services so I head on up and she has every thing ready to go. So here I am, getting ready-while she's giving me privacy to get undressed. I know professionally this is totally the right and appropriate thing to do but, it also cracks me up. There is nothing private or pampering about what's about to go down in here lol. I never could understand why people say getting hair ripped out of their body is pampering or treating yourself....to what? Torture!? The end result is rad though 😉 she starts with the brows.... this before and....after the brows 😌 she does a great job, so if y'all are in Hot Springs pop into Gypsy Girl and say, hey! Now for the fun stuff right....Not! But my brows are on point! Ok, so, like I said before, I have been sugaring the last several years, but today we are waxing. I never really thought about it before today but, maybe me and wax are not meant to be friends. I don't know about everyone else, but I'm a chatterbox in case you can't tell by reading this. Tara and I are chatting away about all sorts of life things, upcoming adventures, concerts, men, women and self esteem etc... the waxing is happening and it's not really uber painful but.... it's not exactly pleasing either. Time, and waxing are going on and we are moving right along but....yes there's a but...there's one area that is not cooperating, and the longer we are there the worse it seems. The wax just doesn't seem to want to harden and pull properly. Tara is totally professional about it but I'm sure she was freaking out inside. Me, I'm thinking, "what the hell?," it feels like a gob of wax stuck in and on my hoo-ha. Yes that's right...that's cuz it was.! Just my luck - so I start thinking to myself....."yea this is why I don't wax down there." It's like that story about the girl that tried to wax herself and couldn't do it, but, then got in the bath and wound up sticking herself to the bathtub with wax in the nether regions.... so me being a nurse and an analytical thinker I'm like mmmm WTF!, why does this happen to me? So I start thinking, well I am hot blooded, so maybe the wax just isn't cooling, which it wasn't. That's the only thing I can think of. So, we tried oils to get it off, nope 👎, we tried wax around the edges of wax and, cooling fans in the room- nope- she tried a different type of wax....finally after many efforts Tara got it off- of course, she's apologizing and thinking out loud, "what is the deal, it's not cooling?"....so I tell her..."well, maybe it's because I'm so hot blooded my body temperature is just not cool enough for this." Side note-another reason to stick with sugar for me 😉 In the end, an hour and a half later my brows and French wax are awesome and complete! We pose for a couple snaps because, yes, I snapped some of this too! See....even after all that we are laughing and still able to smile 😂 I told her I was going to blog this...after I left, I sent her a couple pics of us cuz we are awesome like that and asked her if it was really ok to post her pics and stuff. It was quite an adventure this morning. Thankful it's over and that I don't have a clump of wax to "wear" to girls weekend! Tara- you're awesome and I am glad to have found you while I was here! Here's to new friends, learning curves, hot messes and making the best of anything that comes your way!!!!
Colleen and I both welcome your feedback on any of our posts, so please feel free to write us!!

Colleen and I talk frequently, and sometimes we accidentally switch to FaceTime which is what happened today. Like the true dorks we are...earbuds in place 😜 I have been bored off my ass while she is working on her office and boutique space at Wholistic Beauty Boutique so it was kinda cool because she was able to give me a tour of her changes, which look awesome! And, if you are in Boise you should definitely go check it out! Meanwhile she has asked me to figure out this RSS feed crap....wish me luck y'all lol So, here I sit at a bar on the lake lol posting a blog instead of figuring out what RSS feed is- lol so it goes Hopefully with my crown and coke I will get inspired 😉 Lake view and entertaining locals where I currently sit lol Lol- promoting ourselves with lovely stones and smiles. Although, Colleen does look a bit freaky. And, this is a copy of the texting that happened while I was making this post. So this is kinda how we work. Truth, raw and simple lol one of the many reasons we work well together.
I travel in my trusty old 1976 holiday rambler camper... yes, by myself and, yes I pull it behind my truck and even set it up all by myself....just answering the most common questions lol This is info you're gonna want to know to understand this " blog" or as I like to call it non blog. I hate the word blog but there are absolutely no synonyms for it so we are stuck with it. So yes apparently I am Carrie- I am a blogger....much to my dismay...sort of lol 😂. Sorry I totally got off track...so I woke up after a night out at 3am hot as hell and thought WTF! Why is it so hot in here!!? I realized quickly, yes, even in my sleepy after drinking state, that my air conditioner was not on. I thought... surely, I didn't turn that mf off... I got up and checked nope it was still on, just not working. I checked my breakers next and they were good but I flipped them for good measure I mean, I really was hoping it was that simple after all, it was 3 o'clock in the morning. Of course, it was not, I threw on a nightgown and grabbed the flashlight to go outside to check the electric box I plug into. I lifted the lid and found a smoking gun....well.......smoking electric cord and receptacle to be exact. this is no bueno!! I was like, well shit!! The breaker was still on in the electric box so I flipped it off and made sure the smoke died down then went back in, opened some windows, of course it was 90 some degrees with no breeze and no power in an aluminum box...needless to say it was a very hot and restless morning. The office of the campground opened at 8 so I called first thing and around 1030 they finally made it....meanwhile it's 110 degrees and climbing...I'm not touching anything till they get their butts there to check it out so I wait and drink lots of water. I plugged in my refrigerator to my neighbors power box so at least I didn't lose all my food and continued to wait. They finally get there, replace the 30 amp and 110 volt receptacles and both breakers...those breakers should have tripped for sure but they were not. This is what it looked like.... Yup...melted af! So I get to go to the store( after my Uber ride to get my truck lol) and get a new end for my electric cord googling the crap out of how to repair an electric cord and consulting my handy dandy dad 😉. I was able to cut the cord- well I had to saw it basically lol but got the bad end off, stripped some wires, attached the new end, tightened that baby up and plugged her in. Thankfully I come from a family who raised independent women....and my dad taught me I can do anything which comes in handy as I tend to have to fix shit myself. Lol. Electricity is always a little sketchy to fix but as long as u cut the power, be safe and not stupid, and make sure al connecting points are tight and right. It's not so bad but it does make me feel a bit like a badass bitch sometimes lol. the finished product and me and my camper are back in business! Not bad for a single travel nurse 😜
a preview for our get together in Memphis next month Colleen and I are getting together next month and are so excited to see what adventures are in store for us. I decided to do a preview and scope it out on my way to Alabama just a few photos to share 💃 pizza on the corner beale street
Whenever these awesome leather cuffs come out ya know it's time for me to clean. Unless, I'm doing dishes then these puppies get put on as I really don't like how dry my hands get after being in soap and water. Jeez, who wants old lady looking hands, surely not me!! Yeah, I'm the boring one this weekend. I have friends coming in for the night so I'm getting ready for that (have not seen him in 30/35 years) and we (my husband and I) are also getting ready for our son to move back home. YIKES! We are re arranging rooms, cleaning, laughing and me, as always being a dork. Oh, it looks like we are going to buy a new to us car too. What a day! So while Carrie is off in Memphis, I am in Boise prepping for our son (and his girlfriend too) to move in. They have both graduated from the University of Idaho and are starting out in life with ZERO debt. Anyone in the US knows how totally, frigging amazing that is. Because we have the option, and because we are super cool, we offered for them to rent two rooms from us so they can save even more money. One of the rooms will be used as a drumming/recording studio. Yay, for double bass being in the house again!!! Here's to kids moving home because they can, instead of having to move home because life has turned to crap. Side note: We did buy a new to us 2003 Honda Pilot for our camping adventures. More will be coming from those adventures. :)
-day in the life...it's my day off- my Saturday on a Tuesday- so I decided to do some paddling and cruise the woods to see what I could find - see for yourself..... beauty is all around us you just have to open your eyes
